Wild Rift New Upcoming Dragons

In the upcoming patches, Riot will introduce the Elemental Dragons and the Dragonsoul. These Dragons take over the map and are able to change the terrain. Each Dragon offers different buffs and souls. These dragons already exist in Wild Rift but they give different buffs and have no soul.

There are already existing Dragons in Wild Rift but these will change the game and have a huge impact on how every game is played out. They will adapt what they already have in their original gaming title League of Legends tweak it a little bit and implement it into Wild Rift.

Dragons

Fire Drake

The Fire Drake is a red Dragon that gives your whole team currently 8% more damage, but that will be changed to extra AD and AP once they release the elemental map. The Dragon soul gives every 3rd auto-attack or ability an AOE explosion that can deal a lot of damage depending on the user of it.

Fire Dragon

The whole terrain changes and it opens up the whole map. Bushes disappear at the red buff and the dragon pit opens up way more. Some walls around the map split up or disappear and make more space overall. This makes it for champions like Rengar really hard to play since there are fewer bushes to use in the jungle, but on the other hand, it makes life easier for Champions with high movement speed and less mobility.

Mountain Drake

The Mountain Dragon gives currently a shield that with 6% of maximum health as a shield after 5 seconds of not taking damage. This will be changed to extra armor and magic resistance. In addition to that there will be a soul that will give the shield this time around.

Mountain Dragon

The same as with every other dragon the terrain is changing if there is a Mountain soul available to obtain. There are walls appearing around the map and the map is getting denser. This whole change makes some champions being more way more powerful once they use the walls.

Cloud Dragon

This drake is currently Grants 7.5% bonus movement speed, doubled to 15% when out-of-combat. That will change a little bit once they release the new one since it will give slow resistance on top of that. The cloud soul will give a huge movement speed buff once you activate your ultimate.

Cloud Dragon

The terrain doesn’t really change on this dragon but it creates wind currents in the Jungle and in the dragon pit making everyone who steps into that area gain a ton of movement speed. Almost any champion can benefit from this except those that have a lot of skill shots and try to fight in that area.

Ocean Dragon

The Ocean drake is currently granting 8% Physical Vamp and Magical Vamp. That will change completely and will be health regen. The cloud soul will give a huge movement speed buff once you activate your ultimate. The soul will be the one that is going to give Physical and Magical Vamp.

Ocean Dragon

The terrain changes a lot with this soul activated. There are way more bushes almost everywhere making it a dream for every assassin player, especially for Rengar mains. It makes everything so hard to ward and have vision.

Conclusion

These Dragon changes will for sure shake the meta as a whole. Right now there are some dragons that are overpowered and the whole game revolves around them, on the other hand, there are some dragons that are almost useless.

This will bring new fresh air into Wild Rift and change the game. It will make things more interesting and not so stale since we have the same dragons for seasons now.

Wild Rift: Arcane Character Guide

This is the first animated series of Riot Games and its been released on the 6th of November on Netflix. It has been an all-round hit and is already number one in several countries. Week by week they release a new act of the story with the final act coming out on 20th November.

The story takes place in a big town that is separated in two, one named Piltover and the other one Zaun. Piltover is the town where all the rich and sophisticated people live and Zaun on the other hand is the underworld where all the rejected and poor ones live. The two main characters of the story are Jinx and Vi that live in Zaun. There are also other characters like Jayce and Caitlyn who live in Piltover. We are going to show you the ones that are in Wild Rift and playable at the moment.

Jinx

She is one of the main characters in the series. Jinx lives in Zaun with her sister Vi and Vander. She is also one of the characters with the most development in the series overall.

If you were fascinated by the character in the series, you will maybe want to play her in Wild Rift. She is an ADC(stands for Attack Damage Carry) that can shoot from far away with her gatling gun. She can also shoot with rockets and has several abilities that do damage and root the enemies. Her ultimate is a huge rocket that does a lot of damage if the enemy is low on health.

Vi

She is the bigger sister of Jinx and is also one of the main characters in the series. She also lives in Zaun. She is also the one that is a leader of group that tries to steal things from the upper world Piltover and is very carring with Jinx.

Vi is played in the Jungle role and is pretty easy to play if you want to hop into a game and try her. She is a Champion with a lot of croud controll and physical damage. She is also pretty tanky and can always engage into the fights.

Jayce

This is one of the characters that lives in Piltover and is pretty much privileged. He is also a scientist who tries to controll magic with science and also achieves it. He is one of the best if not the best scientist in Piltover who tries to explore things no one else dares to.

In the game Jayce is a character that has two forms, one is his melee form and the other one is the ranged form. He has no ultimate but has six different abilites, if you use them in the correct order you almost one shot any squishy enemie target in the game. He is pretty hard to play and not a very beginner friendly champion, so it wouldnt be the best idea if you are beginner to start off with this one.

Caitlyn

She is the daughter of some aristocrats the are viewed very highly in Piltover. She is the assistant of Jayce and the best friend of him. Later on she becomes an enforcer and tries to battle criminality.

Caitlyn like Jinx is an ADC, that can shoot from really far away, since she has the highest range in the game. She is not complicated at all to play and has a very playin kit. Most of her damage comes out of auto attacks. She also has traps that can stun people aswell as a jump that slow their enemies. Her ultimate can be used as an execute that locks into an enemy and shoots from really far away.

Singed

He is the chemist of Silco that produces different potions for him that are very dangerous if used with wrong intentions. So far overall we havent seen a lot of him and is almost a side character.

Singed is a Baron laner that is deals magic damage with his poison. His strength is splitpushing since he is able to run very fast with his ultimate and clean up waves very fast. He is not hard to play but hard to be successfull with, since you have to know where you can position yourself and how far you can push the wave before you are totally overextended.

Conclusion

If you are interested taking a deeper dive into the world of League of Legends, you can always start playing one of their games. If you are new this is a good overall explanation how each of the characters of the show work.

Some of you might not enjoy the game as much as the show. If so just better stick to the show. But the Wild Rift community is open and welcoming to everyone that wants to try a new game.

The 5 Easiest Junglers to Play in Wild Rift

The easiest way to climb contains a lot of things but one of the most important ones is to play easy Champions. So even if you are picking up a new role, it is important to start of with the easier champions before jumping into the harder ones. This is why we chose 5 Champions that have definitely a very low skill ceiling and are very easy to pick up and have success on them.

This guide will represent you the 5 easiest junglers where even the worst ones of you can reach higher ranks if you pick them up and put minimum effort into them. We will focus on their clear, abilities, and playstyle.

Xin Zhao, the Seneschal of Demacia

This is a jungler that is very easy to play and very strong at the moment. You will have the opportunity to snowball games on your own and win a lot of skirmishes with no effort.

Clear

Xin Zhao has the healthiest jungle clear in the game due to his passive giving you health back for every 3rd autoattack. You will always start at your red, move over to the raptor camp.

Then you will go to your wolves, finish your blue and run straight to the scuttle crab. If the enemy jungler tries to contest you, just fight him you win every skirmish before level 5 against every jungler. From there on you try to look for easy ganks.

Abilities

  • Passive: Every third attack deals bonus damage and heals Xin Zhao.

  • Ability 1: Xin Zhao’s next 3 standard attacks deal increased damage with the third attack knocking an opponent into the air.

  • Ability 2: Xin Zhao slashes in front of himself with his spear, then thrusts it forward, slowing affected enemies.

  • Ability 3: Xin Zhao charges to an enemy, dealing damage to all enemies in the area and slowing them briefly.

  • Ultimate: Xin Zhao deals damage to nearby enemies based on their current Health and knocks non-challenged targets back. Xin Zhao is impervious to damage dealt by champions outside of the circle created.

Playstyle

You want always to pre-press Ability 1, then Ability 2 to slow the target and engage with your 3rd Ability, auto-attacking the enemy till you knock him up. By this point, the enemy should be low enough to take him down with some more auto-attacks. Even if you go too deep and regret it you can instantly press your ultimate and deflect every damage outside its radius.

Due to your ultimate, you can be the primary engage for your team in the team fight. You can even pick someone apart knocking with your Ultimate knocking the rest of their team away from yourself.

Evelynn, Agony’s Embrace

This one is also a very easy jungler that can literally hard carry at every elo, due to her invisibility and scaling really hard in the late game. If you get early kills with this Champion you are going to be literally terrorizing the whole map just with your presence.

Clear

Evelynn has one the fastest jungle clears in the game and a very healthy one. It requires little to no skill to clear the jungle and will need a full clear to reach level 5. You will start at your red and from there on you will go to your krugs and then to your raptors.

After that, you will move on to your wolves, into blue, and take the scuttle if it is uncontested, if the enemy jungler tries to contest you just go away if your laners won’t help you and get your gromp.

Abilities

  • Passive, Demon Shade: When Evelynn is out of combat she enters the Demon Shade. If she is low on health Demon Shade will heal her to a limited amount. Once she hits level 5 entering the Demon Shade confers her stealth.

  • Ability (1), Hate Spike: Unleashes two lines of spikes, dealing magic damage.

  • Ability (2), Allure: Evelynn curses the enemy after a while, the mark is loaded she and if she attacks the enemy it will charm and shred their magic resist. If it isn’t fully loaded it will slow them.

  • Ability (3), Whiplash: This ability is an empowered auto attack and a small dash that deals more damage if Evelynn is her Demon Shade. After she cast she gains movement speed.

  • Ultimate, Last Caress: Evelynn briefly goes untargetable and decimates the area in front of her before warping backwards a long distance. She deals more damage if the target is below 30% health.

Playstyle

Her playstyle is pretty straightforward and easy to execute. You want to press your Ability 2 on the enemy Champion and then Ability 1 or 3 to charm him and finalize it with your ultimate if he is low enough to secure a kill.

You should always look for flanks and try not to be the one who engages in the fight. You should always look for overextended sidelaners you punish through your invisibility.

Master Yi, the Wuju Bladesman

He is the easiest jungler by far to play and is the strongest jungle in low elo. He is pretty straightforward because he has no skill shots and just runs into the enemies pressing auto attacks.

Clear

With Master Yi you start with the red buff and you go on to your krugs and then to your raptors.

After that, you will move on to your wolves, into blue, and take the scuttle and you instantly hit level 5 and be ready to run down the enemies.

Playstyle

He has the simplest playstyle a champion can have. You will have to let your team engage and once there is no enemy cc left, you press your Ultimate and start slicing with your Ability 1 through the enemies and auto-attacking them to death.

You should always look for flanks and try not to be the one who engages in the fight. You should never engage because the enemy team is going to oneshot you instantly without even dealing any damage.

Olaf, the Berserker

This is another candidate for an absolute easy jungler that requires no skill to execute his abilities and is very good in the lower elo’s.

Clear

With Olaf you have a very healthy clear due to his passive and the resets on his Ability (1) making it very easy to clear your jungle. You will have to start on your red and then clear your raptors.

From there you go to your wolves, clear your blue and then take the crab, and don’t be afraid contesting it.

Abilities

  • Passive: Olaf’s Attack Speed is increased by 1% for each 1% of his Health he is missing.

  • Ability 1: Olaf throws an axe into the ground at a target location, dealing damage to enemies it passes through and slowing their Movement Speed. If Olaf picks up the axe, the ability’s cooldown is reduced by 4.5 seconds.

  • Ability 2: Olaf’s Attack Speed is increased, he gains Physical Vamp and has increased healing from all sources based on how much Health he is missing.

  • Ability 3:Olaf dashes to an enemy and attacks with such force that it deals true damage to his target. If the target does not die, Olaf takes true damage.

  • Ultimate: Olaf temporarily becomes immune to disables.

Playstyle

It’s pretty straightforward what you have to do with Olaf. You activate your Ultimate run into the enemies and press all your abilities. Try to catch your axes so you can get resets.

You should always be the one that engages the fight and the one that gets into the face of the enemy ADC to make him waste as many abilities as possible on your or even kill him.

Wukong, the Monkey King

This Champion isn’t the easiest of the one’s mentioned already but he is pretty easy and doesn’t require much skill to understand how his kit works.

Clear

Wukong has a bit sketchy since he hasn’t the healthiest clear but it gets better after the first back. You will always start with your red and then finish your raptors.

You go to wolves clear them and then get your blue and from there you will have to be careful at the crab since you arent the strongest early game jungler.

Playstyle

With Wukong it gets a bit tricky. If you play him as a bruiser, you should always be the one that engages the fight. But if you play him full lethality you should look for flanks to one-shot the ADC.

But most of the time you should play him as a bruiser to be able to engage the fights very easy and knock up the whole enemy team.

Conclusion

Learning to play an easy Jungler can give you a kickstart into the role and help you learn it without having to focus on your mechanics. Instead, you can focus on your pathing and other things.

If you pick one of these suggested Champions you will surely have success and a much easier time in the jungle.

Wild Rift vs Pokemon Unite

In this article, we are going to compare both games in their similarities and their differences.

Pokemon Unite and Wild Rift are 5 vs 5 MOBA games that are meant to be played on a mobile device.

Since they both are big franchises with Pokemon being a more popular one they are going to have to battle which one is going to be the number one MOBA in the mobile market.

Pokemon Unite is already released on the Nintendo Switch but is going to launch on 22th of September on mobile.

Pokemon Unite is set in Aeos island where players will be able to play some of their childhood favourite characters like Pikachu and Charizard.

The matches are quite short where the final goal of the game is to store as much Aeos energy and scoring a goal against the enemy team.

Pokemon Unite vs Wild Rift: Gameplay

Pokemon Unite as Wild Rift is played in 5 vs 5 modes but with major differences in the gameplay.

On the one hand, Wild Rift ultimate goal is to destroy the Nexus and win the game, while playing Pokemon Unite the goal of each team is scoring as many goals as possible with the hope to outscore the enemy team before the match finishes.

Both games have different characters that have some abilities and a passive, with Wild Rift having 1 ability more to use. One key difference is that Pokemon Unite games go on for only 10 minutes and Wild Rift games have an open ending.

Another difference between Pokemon Unite and Wild Rift is, that you cant buy any items in Pokemon and you are exclusively dependent on levels and skill.

Similar to Wild Rift, Pokemon Unite has each separate legendary monster your team can compete against. In the Top lane there is a Rift Herald like a monster that is called the Rotom, once the Rotom got into a goal the enemy team can score goals without charging.

On the bottom side of the map, there is a monster called Dreadnaw like the Drake in Wild Rift, that provides a massive experience buff to your whole team.

Once it reaches the final 2 minutes of the game a Zapdos is spawning in the middle of the map that is kinda the same as the Baron Nashor, with a big difference in what it actually provides.

The Zapdos makes the goals of the team that lost it defenseless and can be a target to score easy goals.

Another difference is, that Pokemon Unite has only 2 lanes and 1 Jungle, while Wild Rift has 3 lanes and a Jungle.

This makes Wild Rift way more complex to play and kinda hard for new players to join and catch up easily.

Like in Wild Rift you will need different heroes on your team to make things actually work, like a support a tank and a bruiser. These are all fundamentals that don’t change from one game to another.

Pokemon Unite vs Wild Rift: Characters

The League of Legends universe has over 150 Champions, but they aren’t all available on Wild Rift at the moment with Riot Games adding different ones from one event to the next one.

In the Pokemon universe, there are over 900 available Pokemons without any evolution in it, with Pokemon having way more characters compared to Wild Rift, but a lot of these Pokemons are very similar to each other compared to the Champions in the League of Legends universe.

Some of the Pokemon Unite characters share the same abilities as some Wild Rift ones, like Gengar’s Ultimate that is almost the same as Kassadin’s, there is also Lucario that is a fighter and has similar abilities to Vi or Cinderace that is also very similar to Quinn.

Pokemon Unite has the ability to get way more characters in its game but they won’t be as unique as the characters in Wild Rift since they are very similar ones from generation to generation.

Which game is better?

In my opinion, there isn’t simply a better game between these 2, since they are both very enjoyable and have short game times.

Every game has its own pros and cons making it hard for someone to be able to say if one game is better than the other.

Wild Rift is a more in-depth and complex game than Pokemon Unite and every player will have to decide which game they are going to play or even play both.

Both are fun games and very polished MOBA for mobile devices, who is going to conquer at the end of the day is going to be answered in the near future.

The Jungler’s Laner’s Guide to Climbing Low ELO in Wild Rift

Jungler’s often have the highest impact in the game and can easily take over games on their own. You can easily become a better jungler if you follow the steps of this guide and escape low ELO really quickly. This article is written by a challenger jungler named Xphstakhs whose peak was rank 26.

The jungle is the hardest role to master as it requires a lot of self-discipline, game knowledge, and the ability to be in multiple places at once. In this Mobalytics guide by Xphstakhs, we will be focusing on how to climb in low ELO as a Jungler: focusing on paths and objectives.

What is low elo?

Before we start with this guide, we have to exactly clarify what low ELO is, since every player from different ELO has a different benchmark of what low ELO is.

In this guide, we are gonna set the benchmark, that anything below Emerald is low ELO. Some of you may not agree with this but this is okay.

Jungle paths

First of all, you will have to know what the best jungle path is. Right now the best way to start your Jungle clear is by starting at the Krugs. You start there since they give a lot of gold and Experience and are easier to kill than any other camp level one.

Then you proceed to full clear your whole red side and you will be level three faster than most of your enemy junglers in these ELO’s, since this is a path mostly players in high ELO use.

After you cleared the red side you want either to gank or take the crab in the river. Preferably you want to take the crab since it’s guaranteed gold as well as vision in the whole river for you and your team.

After you got your crab and you are level four you can look for gank in the midlane since you will be higher level and most likely burn the enemy’s flash or even kill him.

After a successful gank in the midlane you want to move and either take the other crab if it is still alive. If it is gone you want to move to your blue side and clear these camps too. After two more camps, you will most likely be level five and unlock your ultimate ability. If you follow these steps you will already have an upper hand over the enemy jungler.

Objectives

Dragons

There are 4 different dragons in Wild Rift like in League of Legends. Each of them has a different element and gives different permanent buffs. Your ultimate goal is to get all 3 drakes before the Elder one spawns since these buffs will allow you and your team to overcome the enemy. The different elements are fire, cloud, mountain, and ocean.

You should always be around the dragon pit when one of them spawns and be ready to fight for it, since you are the one that wants to get the permanent buff and not the enemy team. To get to this goal you will have to kill the enemy jungler and ward in the right positions to have vision of the enemies. The points you want to ward are marked yellow on the map below.

Of course, there are some drakes that are more important than the others. For example, the highest priority is the infernal drake since he is the ones that give your team permanent damage. Second, on that list is the cloud drake that gives permanent movement speed.  The other 2 drakes aren’t as important as these we mentioned.

Rift Herald

The next objective we are going to focus on is the Rift Herald, since it’s the main one, that is going to most likely give your team that first tower gold. Apart from that, it can give you and our laner plating gold that can be used to access more items.

Once it spawns try to be there in time and ping your top laner or mid laner to assist you with it since it’s much easier to hit the eye of it from behind and kill it fast.

How to gank

Ganking is one of the most important tasks in Wild Rift since it can help you and your laner to get kills that can be translated into items then. It will be very hard to win a game if you don’t gank and let the enemy Jungle do it and punish your lanes. Knowing when and how to ganks is very important. The first thing you do before you gank is watching the map and watch which lane is pushed into your lane tower to see if there is an opportunity and space to take advantage of.

Then you want to see which of your laners has CC if the Champion you chose to play has already CC in his kit you don’t need to take that in mind. Try also to gank lanes that are already low hp or started a fight and have no summoner spells or any abilities to escape. Before you gank ping your laner so you know that you are on the way. If there isn’t a single lane pushed into your laners, try to anticipate which lane the enemy Jungle my gank next to be able to countersink him, or look for someone who is low hp under a tower to dive him with your laner.

Conclusion

To have success as a jungler in the lower brackets of the ladder can be exhausting sometimes. But once you follow the steps we showed you in this article you will have a much easier time and see improvement game by game.

If you have any questions or comments please leave them down below we can answer them for you.

How to Climb in Wild Rift (5 Challenger Tips)

With the start of season 2 and the official release in North America, everyone is playing ranked and wants to climb the ladder and get their names on the leaderboard.

If you want to reach your goals, you’ll need to optimize your approach to ranked games.

I’ve been a Challenger since Wild Rift released. Throughout this article, I’ll be giving you some key tips that I use and recommend to other players.

If you have any questions just leave them in the comments and he will answer it for you.

In the following section, we will show you some tips on how to get better at the game and how to successfully gain Elo. The tips are made for every rank and you can apply them even if you are  high on the ladder.

Here are my Challenger tips:

  1. Play more games/get more repetition
  2. Play easier champs
  3. Keep your champion pool small (1-2 champions)
  4. Play an influential role (Mid/JNG)
  5. Play duo or trio queue

1. Play more games/get more repetition

One of the most important tips is to play a lot of games and get a repetition. Playing a lot of games will give you a better feel for the game and improve your mechanics over time. It will also help you overcome rank anxiety.

Hard work beats talent, when talent doesnt work hard.

Playing a lot of games makes you in general better even if you are the least talented player out there. You will get a better vision for the game, a better understanding of the objectives, and about every single champion’s ability. A good amount of games someone should play are 6-8 games every day. If you can play even more that’s even better.

2. Play easier champs

In order to have a fast success is to play champions that have an easy kit to use and aren’t mechanically intense. To know which ones are easy to play look up our Tier List.

Playing easier champions will allow you to concentrate less on the mechanics and be more focused on the map and what is going on around you. The learning curve will be way slower and once you master your in-game awareness you can go to the more mechanical intense champions.

For example, you could play Darius in the Baron lane, Orianna in the Mid lane, Vi in the Jungle, Jinx as an ADC, and Janna as Support.

These champions are very strong in the meta and very easy to play.

3. Keep your champion pool small (1-2 champions)

Another trick to allow you to climb the ladder quickly is to focus on playing 1-2 champions only. This will allow you to master those and understand every single matchup quickly.

Mastering 1-2 champions is way better than playing 7 different because you will have the mechanical advantage most of the time.

However, just because you will be playing 1-2 champions that doesn’t mean that you haven’t to play other roles if the team needs it.

If your champ is picked or the enemies picked a hard counter to your champ, don’t hesitate to pick your second strongest hero to avoid an uncomfortable situation.

4. Play an influential role (Mid/JNG)

In addition, you should try to play roles that have the highest agency and the biggest carry potential. Those roles are Midlane and Jungle.

Baron lane isn’t that has not that much of an influence because you are far away from all the other lanes and most important from the Drake.

The problem of the Duo lane is, as the name says, that this lane includes 2 players, as a result, to rely on your Support or vice versa on your ADC.

Besides that, you are sharing experience and gold with another teammate that gives you fewer resources to carry.

Playing Mid lane gives you a solo lane, that gives you solo experience, gold and you have access into both sides of the river to pull roams, so you can bring the rest of the lanes ahead.

The same goes with the Jungle role. You have access to the whole map and you can snowball your lead to the whole map taking over the games.

5. Play duo or trio queue

If you know people you can trust and are good players don’t hesitate to invite them and play as two or as a three stack.

This maximizes your chances of winning games and climbing faster since you will have fewer randoms in your team.

Mt Targon splash WR

This also gives you the benefit that you will have better communication and better objective control.

In addition, you can rely on your premade if yourself isn’t having a good game at the moment and help them carry or the other way around.

Wild Rift Guide for Beginners (Everything You Need to Know)

Welcome to our absolute beginner’s guide to Wild Rift!

In this guide, we’ll be covering the basics so new players can learn the fundamentals.

Even if you aren’t a day 1 player, there’s a good chance you’ll learn something new.

Here are the topics we’ll be covering in this article:

Chapters

  1. What is Wild Rift?
  2. How do you win?
  3. What is Summoner’s Rift?
  4. Wild Rift Champion Basics (Stat, Summoner Spells, Runes)
  5. The Five Roles
  6. The Map, Fog of War, and Vision Control
  7. The Three Phases and Scaling

1. What is Wild Rift?

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) for mobile.

It’s the mobile version of League of Legends that launched in the Americas as of March 29th on Android and IOS.

To see which other regions Wild Rift is available in, check out our article on Wild Rift release dates.

Like in League of Legends, in Wild Rift, five players compete against other five players, with everyone choosing a single champion to use in Summoner’s Rift.

What is a champion?

Each player on every side of the team has to pick up a champion and every player can control only the one they chose to play with. There are currently over 50 Champions in the game and there will be added a lot of new ones over time. Every champion has its own abilities and powers with a variety of playstyles.

Before you hop in a game of Wild Rift you will get in the champion select and each team has to decide which one they are going to play. There are different strategies and champions that work very well together.

2. How do you win?

There are two different ways to win a game of League of Legends: Wild Rift, the first one is to destroy their base (Nexus) and the second one is if your opponent surrenders the game.

But it isn’t that easy to destroy the base of the opponent because before you even get to the base, you will have to destroy all the enemy turrets in at least one lane before you get access to the enemy Nexus.

3. What is Summoner’s Rift?

There is currently only one map available in League of Legends: Wild Rift and it has the same name as the main one in League of Legends but there will be released new ones in the future.

Summoners Rift(Wilf Rift)

The Summoners Rift is split by a river into two sides the red side and the blue side. On each side, there will be one team of five players.

There are 3 lanes, the mid lane, the top lane, and the bot lane. There is also a jungle on each side of the map that contains jungle camps.

From the base of each side, there will be spawning minions that run into each lane.

Turrets

There are exactly 9 turrets in League of Legends: Wild Rift, 3 on each lane. The first ones are tier 1 turrets, the second ones are called tier 2 turrets and the last ones are called the inhibitor turrets.

Every time your team destroys a turret it gains gold for the whole team and yourself. All turrets have three platings that give extra gold with each one destroyed.

Once the inhibitor turret is destroyed your team will have access to the opposing team’s base and get rewarded with super minions.

The Fountain and Shop

Right at the start of a game Wild Rift, each team will spawn in the fountain. You will be more often the fountain since every time you die, you will spawn in the fountain, where also the shop is located.

You should return to the base every now and then to heal and buy items.

To return to your base you will have to Recall, but be careful your ability can be interrupted if something attacks you.

Income and Items

Your main income will be gold from killing minions, killing the enemy champions, or from turrets.

You will have to spend this gold wisely to get an edge over your opponents.

The more gold you get the stronger you will be and it will be easier to win.

There are a variety of items in League of Legends: Wild Rift, you can buy damage, survivability, or utility items.

Each player has a limit of 6 items so use your slots thoughtfully.

4. Wild Rift Champion Basics

Champions are the most important thing in Wild Rift since they’re the only thing that’s 100% in a player’s control.

There are currently over 50 champions with each one being completely unique.

Some champions are very easy to play while others are very hard and will need time to learn them and play them properly. There is almost a champion for each playstyle and there are more coming into the game.

Auto-attacks and Abilities

Every champion in League of Legends: Wild Rift has auto-attacks, and you can use them if you press the attack button. You can just press it or drag it out and choose the target you want to attack.

There are also 4 abilities that each champion has that are right next to your basic attack button. Every player has also access to two summoner spells. There are also item actives that can be bought as boots upgrades.

Champion Stats

For each champion in League of Legends: Wild Rift there are different stats and each champion benefits from different stats. Each stat shows how powerful or how tanky a champion can be.

Here are the basics:

Health (indicated by a green bar)

  • Health represents the amount of damage you can take before die and respawn in your fountain again

Ability Resources: Mana, Energy, and others

  • Abilities cost resources in order to cast them, most champions use mana and energy
  • The majority of champions, use mana some are able to gain mana back like Twisted Fate if he uses his blue card.
  • Mana is indicated by a blue bar below the health bar and regenerates over time or with blue buff.
  • Champions such as Akali, Kennen, and Lee Sin use energy.
  • Energy is indicated by a yellow bar and also regenerates over time but at a much faster rate. These champions often have ways to get energy back as well, such as by auto-attacking.
  • The tradeoff is that, unlike mana, you cannot increase the amount of energy you have through buying items.
  • Other champions use other sources, such as their health and fury.
  • Using health is straightforward, your champion basically loses an amount of health in order to cast their spell.

Attack Damage (AD)

  • Attack damage, also known as physical damage, represents the damage dealt by basic auto-attacks.
  • Depending on a champion, AD can also empower abilities.
  • Numbers from abilities and items that refer to attack damage are displayed as orange.

Ability Power (AP)

  • Ability power primarily makes your abilities and auto-attacks on turrets more powerful, however, AP can also strengthen some items and runes.

Armor

  • Armor is a defensive stat that reduces the amount of physical damage a champion receives. Building it will help you survive against champions with a lot of attack damage.

Magic Resist (MR)

  • Magic resist is the counterpart to armor that mitigates damage from ability power.

Attack Speed (AS)

  • Attack speed represents how fast your champion auto-attacks.

Ability Haste (AH)

  • Abilities have “cooldowns” representing how long it will be before you can cast it again. Items that give you ability haste allow you to cast abilities more often.

Critical Strike Chance

  • This stat shows your chance of landing a critical strike – critical strikes cause your auto-attacks to deal double its damage.
  • For example, if you have 50% crit chance, your attacks will likely crit 50% of the time. If you have a 100% crit chance, they will crit every time.

Movement Speed (MS)

  • Movement speed represents how fast your champion moves around the map. This can be increased with abilities and items such as boots.

Experience and Leveling up a champion

In League of Legends: Wild Rift you start at level 1 and you end up level 15. You gain experience by farming minions, jungle camps, or getting kills/assists.

Being near a kill without participating in it also gives you experience.

With experience, you gain levels and you can start adding points to your abilities to make them more powerful. Your champion will get stronger with each level because your gain stats for every level you gain.

Summoner Spells

There are not only abilities in League of Legends: Wild Rift but also Summoner Spells. Every player can choose in two Summoner Spells at champ select.

You have a variety of SummonerSpells you can choose from and play the game. In the following section, we will show you what each Summoner Spell does:

Barrier (90-second cooldown):

  • Gain a shield that absorbs 115 − 465 (based on level) damage for 2 seconds.

  • Exhausts target the enemy champion, reducing their movement speed by 20% and their damage dealt by 40% for 2.5 seconds.

  • Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

Ghost (90-second cooldown):

  • Gain a large burst of movement speed that decays to 25% bonus movement speed for 6 seconds.

Heal (120 second cooldown):

Runes

In League of Legends: Wild Rift, runes give your champion’s particular beneficial attributes and abilities that can help you play toward certain playstyles.

Each champion needs a specific rune path to excel at their maximum with some deviations.

In this section, we will provide you with all the information about the runes in Legends: Wild Rift:

Keystones

Electrocute(25 seconds cooldown):

  • PASSIVE: Basic attacks and abilities generate stacks on enemy champions hit, up to one per attack or cast. Applying 3 stacks to a target within a 3 second period causes them to be struck by lightning, dealing them 30 − 184 (based on level) (+ 40% bonus AD) (+ 25% AP) Adaptive damage.
  • ADAPTIVE DAMAGE: Deals either physical or magic damage depending on your bonus statistics, defaulting based on the origin of the effect.

The empowered attack duration refreshes whenever going in combat.
  • On ranged champions, all effects are reduced by 60%.

The Adaptive Force in Wild Rift seems to be different from its League of Legends’ variant: 1 point of Adaptive Force provides 0.5 bonus AD or 1 AP.

When you are choosing your runes, you have a single tree to choose 4 different choices including keystone.

The first slot is the domination slot the second one is the resolve one and the third one is the Inspiration. Understanding which runes to choose in every situation is very hard for a beginner and even for experienced players.

5. The Five Wild Rift Roles

In League of Legends: Wild Rift there are five different roles like in League of Legends. The five roles are Top, Jungle, Mid, ADC, and Support.

Since there is no role selection right now in Wild Rift you will have to adapt every game since there are different role popularity.

If you are a new player we suggest you try every role in some games to see which one fits you the best. Once you find the best role that suits you try to main this role.

But keep in mind that you will have to play all roles since there isn’t role selection.

What is a team comp?

Since League of Legends: Wild Rift is a team-based game where 5 players compete against the other 5 players the champion select is very important. If you use your team to combine the abilities you can win the game.

An area-of-effect (AoE) team comp is the best one you can have because you can combine all your abilities at the correct time to delete a whole team.

A skirmisher comp is Skirmish team comps utilizing champions that have high mobility and like to fight in messy fights from multiple angles(assassins). This comp is also very effective if you can dodge the AoE spells.

If you are a new player don’t worry about team comps since it’s very hard to pull off an organized team fight even in higher ranks, since there is no communication in a game like League of Legends: Wild Rift.

6. The Map, Fog of War, and Vision Control

In League of Legends: Wild Rift it is very important to play with and against the fog of war. You can’t see everything like in other mobile game MOBA’s and it’s harder to make decisions. The fog of war is shown on the minimap as a darkened area.

You have to be careful when you walk around walking into the darkness without any vision. You can also use the fog of war to attack from the dark without any anticipation from the enemy team.

Your allied champions, structures, and wards provide vision. At the beginning of the match, you get an item called Warding Totem that can stack up to two wards. Wards last a limited time and vanish after that.

Clearing wards is very important, that’s why support’s and junglers should always change their Warding Totem’s to an Oracle Lens.

The Oracle Lens is a lamp that appears over your champion while you are walking and showing you the enemy wards. It also negates the vision of the enemy ward if you reveal it.

The River, Jungle, and Camps

In between the lanes, there is a river that runs across the map, a lot of fights happen there since players use it to go up and down the map and where all the big objectives are.

In the jungle, there are camps that can be cleared by anyone but preferably by junglers.

Those camps give gold and experience but more experience to players that use Smite as a Summoner Spell. They spawn over time and have a cooldown till they respawn.

The jungle also has buffs. It is good to secure those buffs to have an advantage over the enemy team.

If you take down the Blue Sentinel you get the so-called blue buff that restores mana and health over time and gives you 15 ability haste. But if you slay Red Brambleback your auto attacks deal more damage and slow them.

Jungle Plants

As you travel around the jungle you will notice interactive plants that spawn and can be used. If you use them correctly you can gain a big advantage.

Scryer’s Bloom

Scryer’s Bloom will create a cone of cleared vision in the direction you hit it for a short amount of time.

This plant is very useful since you can reveal the enemy champions and track them down. It can also be used to reveal wards permanently so you can know where to walk without being noticed or even clear them.

Honeyfruit

This plant spawns around the river and in every lane. Once you attack them they pop and leave 3 dots on the ground you can walk over and gain hp and mana.

It is very important to use them correctly in lane because it is the only source of hp and mana regeneration you have. The one in the river isn’t that important but it can save your life from time to time.

The Blast Cone

The red plants in the Jungle are called Blast cones. They can cause a champion to fly to a chosen direction if autoattacked.

This plant can be used to jump over walls. For example, if you try to escape from the enemies or try to get to your next camp.

The Scuttle Crab

In the river you will often see a neutral monster that walks up and down, this is called Scuttle Crab.

Slaying the Scuttle Crab will give vision for your team and an area that gives movement speed to yourself and your team every time they walk over it.

It is very easy to kill, but you will have to be careful since both teams will try to take it down because it grants free vision in the river. If you are playing jungle prioritize this camp very high and try to kill it as soon as it spawns and if you are a laner be willing to leave your lane to help your jungler.

Elemental Dragons

Here are their names, color, and their effect:

  • Cloud Drake (white) = Grants 7.5% bonus movement speed, doubled to 15% when out-of-combat.
  • Infernal Drake (red) = Grants 8% increased damage.
  • Mountain Drake (brown) = Grants 6% of maximum health as a shield after 5 seconds of not taking damage.
  • Ocean Drake (blue) = Grants 8% Physical Vamp and Magical Vamp.

There is 8 Dragons total in Wild Rift; early in game 4 Ocean, Infernal, Mountain, and Cloud Dragons each have a random chance to spawn and, when slain by your team, you and your teammates will receive a permanent buff. First Dragon Spawns at 4:00.

The Elder Dragon

The Elder Dragon is also known as Elder drake spawns after players have slain at least 4 Elemental the game will begin to spawn Elemental Elder Dragons, which grants even stronger buffs.

Here are their names, color, and their effect:

  • Elder Cloud (white) = Grants 11.25% bonus movement speed, doubled to 22.5% when out-of-combat.
  • Elder Infernal (red) = Grants 12% increased damage.
  • Elder Mountain (brown) = Grants 9% of maximum health as a shield after 5 seconds of not taking damage.
  • Elder Ocean (blue) = Grants 12% Physical Vamp and Magical Vamp.
  • Elder Bonus Buff=Attacks burn enemies dealing true damage.

This makes the elder the best objective on the whole map. Once you get the Elder drake the chances of you winning are very high.

Rift Herald

The Rift Herald is used to speed up the game, and when using the Rift Herald, players can destroy enemy towers early in the game. Rift Herald Spawns at 6:00 (Can only be slain ONCE).

The Rift Herald will drop an Eye of the Herald buff, which can be picked up and used to summon the Rift Herald to ram enemy Tower to inflict a huge amount of damage within Range to get the first tower.

Baron Nashor

Baron Nashor Buff allows players to push into the enemy base and destroy the enemy nexus with powered up lane minions. You will need multiple members to slain the Baron. The Buff you gain is called the Hand of Baron. This Buffs up the minions and gives your more damage.

Baron Nashor Spawns at 10:00. Most of the time the final fights happen around the baron because it’s the second-best objective in the game that can help you close out the game.

7. The Three Phases and Scaling

There are three phases of scaling in the game. This isn’t only for beginners but also for experienced players to understand the different phases.

The three phases: early game, mid game, and late game. Those phases are to be considered very well because then you will know when your champ excels the best, and when you can win the game and when you can’t.

Here we explain the three phases:

Early game

This is when all the turrets are up and everyone is in their lane except for the junglers.

Until the jungler arrives, top and mid will mostly be 1v1 and bot lane will mostly be 2v2.

Mid game

When the first turrets begin to be destroyed,  the mid game begins.

During the mid game, a match becomes messier than lane phase as some players will remain in lane while others will begin to roam around the map to help destroy other turrets or contest dragons or Rift Herald.

Late game

The mid game usually ends when all of the first turrets in the lanes are destroyed (sometimes, even more, are gone by then). This is the late game.

At this point, champions have acquired many of their major items, and teams begin to group for large teamfights around Baron and Elder Dragons.

This is very important to know because you will know when your team power spikes and when your teammates’ champ get their own power spike to use it to close out the game.

Closing Thoughts

To get better at League of Legends: Wild Rift you will have to play a lot of games and keep practicing. There isn’t a mystic recipe to get better.

The best advice we can give you is just to keep playing and practicing all your skills either in ranked or normal games.

If you want to get faster results you can pick the best pick in the current meta and practice them. You can see who those champs are in our tier list.
