Overwatch 2 Tier List Rankings – The Best Heroes for Launch Week

In this tier list, we’ve got you covered with the best heroes in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List (Kiriko Competitive Update)

Note that the heroes are organized by difficulty for new players/beginners who haven’t tried them yet.

Orange represents a high/hard skill floor, Blue represents an average skill floor, and Green represents a low/easy skill floor.

Overwatch 2 Tier List Commentary

As always with our tier lists, we want to highlight that we believe that the player always matters more than the character you play as.

If you have an off-meta main that is working for you, by all means, no need to switch! Keep rocking it.

This list is more to understand if one of your characters is favorable in the current meta, or to help players that have run into a plataeu.

Quick Notes

Fundamental Differences from Overwatch 1

Since you’re here, there’s a good chance that you already know the core differences between Overwatch and Overwatch 2.

If not, know that there are some kit adjustments across the hero cast. Be sure to know what has changed for your hero pool before diving into ranked.

The other major change to know is that now, there are five players instead of six (sorry to all you sixth men and women out there). This means that there are now one tanks instead of two.

Although it depends on the comp and the map, in general, this means that there is a noticeable decrease in the amount of crowd control and shields in the game.

There will be less instances of just defaulting to deathball teamfights and more instances of skirmishes and duels that happen.

How tiers work

In S-tier, you’ll find the best heroes in Overwatch 2 which will be very present in almost all maps and comp combinations.

A-tier heroes are still great choices but tend to be present for fewer maps than S-tier characters in pro play. However, in some situations, A-tier characters might shine more than S-tier characters.

In B-tier, we’re continuing the trend of heroes that have lower overall presence and are even more specialized. Some heroes here are just worse versions or downgrades of heroes in a similar niche above them (such as Ashe usually being the better choice over Cassidy).

Lastly, we have the Situational batch of heroes in the C-tier section. These heroes are rarely seen in comparison to their peers and are usually pulled out for specific halves or holds on a very small pool of maps.

The Best Damage (DPS) Heroes

Tier Overwatch 2 Damage (DPS) Tier List
S Genji, Tracer, Sojourn
A Ashe, Sombra, Reaper
B Widowmaker, Hanzo, Cassidy, Echo, Pharah, Soldier: 76, Mei
C Symmetra, Bastion, Junkrat, Torbjorn

With the drop from two tanks to one, heroes like Tracer and Genji have a lot more space to maneuver and find critical angles.

They can dive backlines much more easily without fear of being peeled by hard CC.

tracer concept art tier list

Soujourn has been incredibly strong since her release during the beta and she continues to be the best non-flanker option.

Below S-tier, you have Ashe, Sombra (who has a strong case for S-tier), and Reaper who are all very good but just slightly more situational on some maps.

The rest of the Damage heroes are solid enough to play on most maps but tend to lack the versatility of their S and A-tier counterparts and will likely shine better in specific comps.

For example, Pharah and Echo won’t do as well without a Mercy but Mercy isn’t as prioritized as other Supports in the current meta.

The Best Tank Heroes

Tier Overwatch 2 Tank Tier List
S Zarya, D.Va
A Sigma, Orisa, Winston
B Wrecking Ball, Junker Queen, Reinhardt
C Doomfist, Roadhog

Tanks like Zarya and D.Vawho were always known for being more self-sufficent, have become prominent in the one tank system.

With so many flankers, the meta tends to favor mobility but immobile tanks like Sigma and Winston are definitely having success.

dva concept art

The rest of the tanks in B and C tier have much harder counters or are significantly map dependent in comparison to the tanks above them.

For example, if there’s a Kiriko on the enemy team, it becomes incredibly difficult to play Junker Queen.

Wrecking Ball gets shutdown by Sombra and Roadhog is heavily invalidated by a good Ana.

The Best Support Heroes

Tier Overwatch 2 Support Tier List
S Baptiste, Lucio
A Ana, Kiriko, Zenyatta, Moira
B Brigitte, Mercy
C None

On one end, it’s a great time to be a Support main due to the new passive heal. You are much more independent and can fend for yourself more often than OW 1.

It’s the only role where we have all of the heroes in S, A, and B-tier without any in C-tier.

However, due to only having one tank on a team, flankers are of course running wild and you have less peel for yourself.

Because of this, heroes like Lucio (who was always one of the best self-peelers due to his knockback and speed) and Baptiste (who was buffed during the beta and has more tools to self-peel with his Shift and E) are among the best choices.

lucio concept art

Below them, you have Moira who is one of the best against Genji and Tracer but a bit more situational compared to the S-tiers along with Ana/Zenyatta who also have ability to self-peel but with methods that are harder to pull off.

Kiriko made our debut at A-tier, due to her difficulty. We believe she has an S-tier kit but she’s harder for lower ranks to use effectively. As the general playerbase learns to play her better, we may bump her up for now, there are too many players using her in Competitive without enough practice so it’s deflating her place.

Lastly in B-tier, we have Brigitte and Mercy who are the most niche choices due to how linear their kits are. They’re fine to choose but the comp and map have to make sense.

Omega Strikers Tier List Rankings – The Best Characters of the Open Beta (Ai.Mi Update)

If you’re looking for the best characters of Omega Strikers, you’ve come to the right place.

In this tier list for the Omega Strikers Open Beta, we’ll be ranking the strikers within tiers to help you understand their place in the meta.

Below the graphic, we’ll also provide commentary about our placements.

If you disagree with our rankings or have any other feedback, let us know!

Here are our rankings for the best characters in Omega Strikers:

Tier  Best Characters in Omega Strikers – Tier List
S Juliette, Kai, Dubu, Asher, Atlas
A Era, X, Estelle, Ai.Mi, Drek’Ar
B Juno, Luna

For a visual infographic version of our Omega Strikers tier list, check it out below:

omega strikers ai mi patch tier list

Best Omega Strikers Commentary

Compared to our tier lists for other games, we want to lead by saying that Omega Strikers is incredibly balanced.

With the right player, team comp, trainings, and playstyle, all characters are at the very least, good, and can have success.

There isn’t a bad character in the game so far, but there are some that are the best or great.

Our placements are greatly influenced by the Leaderboards from around the world but also takes into account recent public tournaments.

Let’s dive in!

S+ (Best)

juliette omega strikers tier list

Juliette, and Asher (still strong as hell after her nerf) have been the popular go-to bans in the brawler-heavy meta so it isn’t a surprise to see them among the best characters. They have success around the world, are relatively easy to play compared to the rest of the cast, and can exert an incredible amount of influence on the outcome of a match.

In general, you’ll want at least one of these bruisers in your team’s lineup to give you more initiative and create more favorable power play situations. Drek’Ar can also fulfill this role but is placed a step below since he’s reliant on controlling orbs and scaling ASAP. This makes him less consistent as there are some games where he’ll be outpaced.

Kai, Atlas, and Dubu are by far the best goalies, and moreso Atlas and Kai the higher you go up the ladder, so until the goalie cast is expanded, expect these strikers to stay in S-tier.

A (Great)

drek'ar omega strikers tier list

This batch of characters all have pros and cons over each other and can be used interchangeably in many instances as long as your team has one of the brawlers in S-tier.

Era especially fits very good in the brawler meta as she provides insane support to them in the form of movement speed and size buffs. She definitely doesn’t shine as much when paired when partnered with another ranged forward.

Estelle is one of the best scorers in the game with oppressive skill + strike combos but like Drek’Ar, she doesn’t truly shine until she hits level 10. Due to the brawler meta that can snowball out of control fast, she can get bullied from getting to those orbs.

After his nerfs and with the addition of Asher, X has lost some favor and has fallen to S tier. He’s still very good but not as oppressive as before.

Ai.Mi has made her debut in A-tier and does have potential to jump up to S. For now, we see her as mostly competing with Estelle’s niche as a skillshot-based ranged character with burst combo potential, but her turret gives her better defense. We love her addition to the roster!

B (Good)

luna omega strikers tier list

Lastly, we have Luna as the only character in B-tier for now. We do want to shout out the cracked Lunas out there that can definitely kick ass with her but due to her all-in nature, she can be very feast or famine compared to her peers.

She does have the advantage of being played in both positions comfortably but she is just worst than other goalies and other forwards. As you climb up the ladder, players are better at anticipating her Eject Button shenanigans, dodging her missile, and playing around her ultimate.

In top-level tournaments and the global leaderboards she has a very low presence and just doesn’t offer too many advantages over other characters right now (but she’s definitely near the top for being fun!).

Last time, we mentioned how Juno was already borderline B-tier as an A-tier character. After another patch, we’ve gone ahead and dropped her down as players at competitive levels of play have learned to shut down her slimes by stepping on them consistently. We do think she has one of the highest ceilings though as players get better at redircts.

Welcome to our Teamfight Tactics Tier List for Patch 12.19

Hey everyone, welcome back to our weekly champ strength analysis.

Similar to our LoL tier list, our TFT tier list is curated in collaboration with top-level players, such as Ace of Spades. This list is optimized to help you climb.

Patch 12.19 has a bit of a mix of large changes and small changes that will affect the meta. We definitely have some champion changes to update ya’ll on this week. Let’s get right into it.

Looking for info on the upcoming Set 7.5? Check out our all-in-one Teamfight Tactics Set 7.5 reveal article that covers all champions, synergies, and more!

TFT Tier List for Patch 12.19

TFT Tier List Patch 12.19

Early Game Tier List

Tier Champions
Optimal (S-tier) Braum, Ezreal, Gnar, Jax, Karma, Leona, Rell, Sejuani, Sett,
Great (A-tier) Aphelios, Kai’Sa, Lux, Lillia, Malphite, Nasus, Qiyana, Senna, Taliyah, Twitch, Wukong, Yone, Zac, Zyra
Good (B-tier) Nidalee, Skarner, Vladimir

Mid Game Tier List

Tier Champions
Optimal (S-tier) Braum, Diana, Ezreal, Gnar, Jax, Karma, Malphite, Rakan, Rengar, Rell, Sejuani, Sylas, Taliyah, Twitch, Volibear, Zyra
Great (A-tier) Aphelios, Kai’Sa, Lee Sin, Leona, Lux, Nasus, Nomsy, Nunu, Olaf, Qiyana, Seraphine, Sett, Varus, Wukong, Yone, Zac, Zippy
Good (B-tier) Lillia, Nidalee, Senna, Skarner, Vladimir

Late Game Tier List

Tier Champions
Optimal (S-tier) Ao Shin, Aurelion Sol, Bard, Daeja, Graves, Hecarim, Idas, Jayce, Nilah, Pantheon, Rakan, Shyvana, Seraphine, Shi Oh Yu, Sohm, Soraka, Swain, Sylas, Terra, Xayah, Yasuo, Zoe
Great (A-tier) Diana, Lee Sin, Nomsy, Nunu, Olaf, Rengar, Sy’fen, Varus, Volibear, Zeri, Zippy
Good (B-tier)

General Champion Commentary

Malphite B to A

With Sohm being a strong AP carry, Malphite sees solid play as a mid game frontline for Lagoon and also in Mage Nomsy comps.

Zac S to A

Zac has seen the most play in comps like Seraphine shielding comps rather than the other Lagoon comps due to him being a Guardian. Zac is just a bit weaker compared to other strong early game frontlines.

Seraphine A to S

Even though Seraphine was nerfed this patch, she is still one of the best support units in the game.

Zippy S to A

Unfortunately, Zippy isn’t seeing the most play right now, and full Guild comps aren’t doing so well.

Shi Oh Yu A to S

Jade comps are making a resurgence this patch, and Shi Oh Yu is looking to be one of the stronger Dragons this patch.

Swain A to S

Rengar is looking to be on of the strongest carries this patch, and this makes Swain a premier frontline to use for Darkflight.

TFT Tier List Methodology

Our goal is to deliver the most correct tier list we can. When data becomes available, we will add that to our decision making as well.

To ensure accuracy, we work with experts with multiple Queen accounts like Ace of Spades and Saintvicious to scientifically test hypotheses and come to logical conclusions. We will update these as frequently as possible until the meta settles.

We justify our decision making in the notes, so be sure to read that and weigh in. We welcome feedback to figure out what we missed!

Units are valued in the following ways:

  • S-tier = Super powerful and contested champs that everyone wants and forms comps around.
  • A-tier = Champs that fit very well into powerful comps in the meta.
  • B-tier = Champs that are situational but still fit into good comps.
  • Not on the list = Champs that are rarely contested and have better alternatives for their comps or just don’t fit into a strong comp at all.

In the current state of the game, items are a big component of champ strength and champs that work well with them are high value. Right now, we’ll be organizing by unit cost.

This allows you to understand when a champion is valuable and when they start to fall off. This also allows you to understand how you should value your economy with the rolls you are getting. If this doesn’t work out or is too complex, then we will iterate in the future.

We evaluate a specific unit at a specific point in the game assuming it has a reasonable rank for that point and it’s in a comp that works for it.

If a unit usually carries and has good items, it is evaluated in that context since items are so integral to the game.

Please remember that TFT is highly situational so ALL units can be used. Explore and help us figure out the things we may have missed!

Multiversus Tier List – Best Characters to Play in Season 1

Welcome to our Multiversus tier list! If you’re looking for the best characters, you’ve come to the right place.

Even though Season 1 still doesn’t have Ranked out yet (Tony pls), metas have been forming since the game’s alpha.

This list takes into account both 2v2 and 1v1, but weighs 2v2 slightly more due to it being the main mode that the game is built around.

Here are our rankings for the best Multiversus characters for 1v1 and 2v2:

Tier Multiversus Tier List
S+ Bugs Bunny, Velma
S Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, Morty, Steven Universe
A The Iron Giant, Shaggy, Wonder Woman, Arya Stark, Taz, Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, Gizmo, Tom and Jerry
B Lebron, Reindog
C Garnet

Below, you’ll find an infographic version of our Multiversus tier list that includes more details like our difficulty ratings (for beginners trying to learn a character).

Multiversus Tier List Patch 1.02

Multiversus Tier List Commentary

One thing we want to mention at this point is that, Multiversus is pretty damn balanced overall. The difference between adjacent rankings (like S and A) are very close and nearly interchangeable in some cases.

Basically every character has players out there making them work at a high level, so we recommend prioritizing characters that synergize with your playstyle and are most of all, fun for you to learn and play.

Another note is that Multiversus is still very new and the meta is likely to change quickly as characters are further developed. Players are bound to find new rune builds, improved matchup counterplay, and of course, character tech, that will cause rankings to rise and fall.

S+ (Top Tier)

After a series of balance changes, Bugs Bunny still has a strong argument for being the best character in Mulstiversus, but he’s definitely not the unanimous choice anymore.

He is now alongside his often partner in crime (or anti-crime?) Velma, in S+ tier. Velma has proven to still be a strong competitive mainstay despite her own balance changes.

The two characters fit into any comp and are comfortable in almost all matchups.

S (High Tier)

Harley Quinn has seen improvement after improvement in balance changes and as players have optimized her kit, she has continued to climb.

After a round of massive buffs and dedicated players, Morty has made a massive jump to S if you’re able to handle his unorthodox playstyle.

A (Lower High Tier)

Gizmo has debuted in A-tier with a well-blessed kit that offers a ton of utility, poke/burst damage, and consistent options.

He is very good in 2v2 but slightly worse in 1v1, so we’ll be keeping an eye on him for now before considering moving him anywhere else.

After a massive spike of success followed by a round of buffs, The Iron Giant has settled here in a spot that most players are pretty happy with.

The other curve ball is Taz’s awaited return after receiving some helpful buffs. It was rough for a long while but now you don’t have to feel embarrassed to pick him anymore, far from it.

Tom and Jerry got hit hard so they’ve fallen to A-tier for now. Expect them to bounce back after more adjustments since they went a little overboard with the nerfs.

B (Mid Tier)

Lebron has been definitely getting better as his players optimize his moveset but he’s still a cut below a lot of characters. Meanwhile, Reindog, although still offering a ton of potential, just isn’t represented by that many great players. We’ve dropped him down for now but he’s still pretty good if you’re committed to him.

C Tier (Low Tier)

Lastly, Garnet is unfortunately the worst character in the game. She’s just worst compared to other bruisers and as other characters have developed, she’s mostly stayed stagnant.

Her players were anticipating the round of buffs she received but they just fell flat in terms of providing any semblance of significant impact.

Difficulty Methodology

Lastly, we want to explain our difficulty ratings. Note that these are more meant for Multiversus players who are new to the platform fighting genre.

If you’re a veteran of Smash, Brawlhalla, or Nick All-Star Brawl, you’ll likely find it pretty easy to pick up any character.

Easy

These characters have kits that are very intuitive with few surprises. That doesn’t mean they don’t have depth, but they are very simply designed and easy to pick up the first time you play them.

Average

Average characters are still pretty easy to pick up and play, but tend to have more ability cooldowns to manage or other unique gameplay aspects that require a bit more understanding than their Easy counterparts. You should get the hang of them after several matches.

Hard

New players will likely find Hard characters to feel a bit unwieldy at first but typically, we think that they’ll make sense after 8-10 games. Make sure to read the nuances of their move lists!

Thanks for reading! Be sure to check back, especially around new patches, for updated rankings for the best Multiversus characters.

Welcome to the Mobalytics Tier List for Wild Rift for Patch 3.4!

Hello, and welcome to the Wild Rift tier list for the 3.4 Patch. In this tier list, we will show you which Wild Rift champions are the strongest at the moment and give you the best results to climb the ladder.

I’m Flaw, I have years of MOBA experience across many different titles such as LOL PC, AOV, and Mobile legends with competitive experience in the aforementioned mobile titles as well as Wild Rift which I have been a part of since the game was released.

My most notable achievement is a 2nd place in the ESL UK premiership with that Reason gaming roster and a top 8 finish in every Origin series qualifier as well as a number of victories and top 3 placements in smaller tournaments such as Qlash, Purge, and Team Queso.

This tier list will combine my high elo experience with my analysis of the latest Wild Rift patch notes.

Pick of the Patch Commentary

Top – Jayce

jayce wild rift splash

  • Jayce now has better mana regeneration and lower CD on Thundering Blow/Acceleration Gate. This gives him more agency in lane with more poke and a higher chance of gaining an advantage he can use to snowball the game by getting more towerplates.

Jungle – Gwen

gwen wild rift splash

  • She is super strong and the new item Riftmaker gives her everything she needs to succeed, if played well she can hard carry games by herself and is pick or ban.

Mid – Kassadin

kassadin original wild rift splash

  • Kassadin is still the best midlane pick who will outscale everyone at 4 items and take over games if he isn’t punished early game.

Bottom – Samira

samira original wild rift splash

  • Has received more buffs that make her even stronger, she was already in a good position and should be made use of to climb in ranked as her DPS and durability are among the highest out of all the ADC’s

Support – Rakan

rakan wild rift splash

  • The new support items benefit him greatly as the allow him to engage and reduce protobelt cd by 40% per assist giving him the opportunity to use it multiple times in a fight and engage consistently from further away more often which will catch people off guard.

Methodology TLDR:

  • Our tier list is made according to what is being played in high elo but is meant to be helpful for all players. The lower your skill level, the easier skill level of champion you should consider.
  • We will only have one tier list for now since Wild Rift is a relatively new and there aren’t a lot of statistics about what is going on in lower brackets of the ladder.
  • Furthermore, for each role, we will have a recommended champion that should get you results in a short period of time based on the current meta.
  • Simple champions have a lower skill floor, allowing them to be picked up easily.
  • If a champion has a higher skill floor (harder to play), it will take more time to learn and you will have to spend some time playing them in normal games, before you can be confident to step into a ranked game.
    • However in the long run, a harder champion may have a higher ceiling in terms of their mechanics and outplay potential.
  • Note that even if your favorite or main champion isn’t meta, it doesn’t mean that you can’t climb with them. Comfort goes a long way in playing well.

Come back every patch to check out our tier list that will be updated according to the new buffs and nerfs. If you have any comments, questions, or feedback leave it below. Good luck climbing and see you soon Summoner!

Smash Bros Ultimate Tier List Commentary

Something we always want to stress with our tier lists is that in the vast majority of cases, the player will matter more than the character.

At the end of the day, make sure to choose the character(s) that you have the most fun with and will be the most motivated to improve with.

In addition, we want to note that although Ultimate has completed its roster, the meta will continue to evolve as players develop their respective characters.

Lastly, note that due to Smash Ultimate’s massive cast, the characters are NOT ranked within their tiers, but are instead ordered by their difficulties.

S (Top Tier)

These characters are well-cited being the near-consensus best characters of Smash Ultimate (although some from A-tier do have good arguments).

In general, they either have some of the best results, represent the best movesets in the game, or have the best matchup spreads (usually a combination of all three).

Just take a look at a tournament from locals to majors and you’ll see a large amount of representation of Palutenas, R.O.B.s, Roys, and Wolfs.

Others from this batch, like Peach, Sheik, and Pac-Man, are more rare but show strong results from the few specialists that do pilot them.

Lastly, we also have characters like Joker, Aegis, and Steve who are candidates for being the very best Smash Ultimate characters.

A (High Tier)

As we mentioned earlier, many of these A-tier characters can definitely make a case for being top-tier.

However, these characters tend to run into some problems that the others above them don’t have.

In most cases, these reasons are related to consistency, having some hard counters, or lack of meaningful results despite being highly rated in a theoretical sense (we’re looking at you Shulk).

That being said, these characters are very, very good and are still among the best in terms of matchup spreads, kit strength, and consistent representation at the highest levels.

B (Lower High Tier)

Right below A-tier is our B-tier, which we have as still being lower high tier.

This tier has a mix of characters that are on the rise but still a bit unproven, characters that used to be in A-tier (or higher) but have been falling out of favor, and characters that have shown flashes of brilliance but just don’t have the resume yet.

Characters like Kazuya and Sephiroth have been scaling well with time but we have seen pros look a bit uneven with them at times.

For example, we’ve seen Tea and Riddles both pop off with Kazuya but also look lost at times and then default to Pac Man and Terry as the safer choices respectively.

Sephiroth has seen representation in Japan and NA but just seems to miss the mark in most cases at the very highest level (he didn’t survive Tweek’s gauntlet of character crisis).

In the second category, we have characters like Inkling, Mario, and Chrom who were very favored in Ultimate’s early meta but have been getting worse with time. For the most part, they’re still seen as being good but hard to make the argument for among the best.

For the third flashes of brilliance group, we have characters like Falco, Link, Ryu, Greninja, Mii Brawler, and Young Link who have signature representatives who have popped off with them like Tilde, Asimo, and T, but they just don’t have the representation/results to let them make a push into A tier.

C Tier (Low Tier)

This group of characters is mostly comprised of secondary/tertiary pocket and counter picks, along with characters that are represented by players that are incredibly good but make you say “Imagine if they played a better character instead”.

The first category has characters like Rosalina& Luma, Sora, and Mewtwo who are associated with great players like Dabuz, Kameme, and Wadi but are typically chosen for specific matchups in bracket (or however Wadi is feeling that day).

On the other end, we have Incineroar, King Dedede, and the Belmonts who make us wonder how good Skyjay, Atomsk, and Dom would be playing top tiers. They’re constantly being pushed to their limits but they have much lower ceilings than characters above them.

That being said, we have seen some pop-off moments from characters like Lucas, Corinn, and Ice Climbers that do allow them to have some arguments for eventual entry into the tier above them – time will tell!

D Tier (Low Tier)

These characters, although capable of some success, generally have the most exploitable weaknesses or lack of overall strength compared to the rest of the cast.

For the most part, they’ll have matchup charts that are very skewed against them and will likely get most of their wins due to a lack of matchup knowledge rather than the strength of their kit.

They’re the characters that will have a specific Reddit thread for making a good run or upset (which may be appealing for some of you looking for an off-meta main to dedicate yourself to)

Similar to the character specialists we mentioned in C-tier, we do want to shout out the likes of Kirbykid (KK Rool), Peanut (Little Mac), and Brood (Pirahna Plant) for the high-quality performances they manage to pull out with their limited kits.

If you’re purely a Wifi warrior, due note that characters like Zelda, Ganondorf, KK Rool, and Little Mac are noticeably buffed.

Difficulty Methodology

Lastly, we want to explain our difficulty ratings. Note that these are meant for players who are playing Ultimate as their first Smash or platform fighter.

If you’re a veteran, these won’t offer that much value to you.

Easy

These characters have very simple kits and are super beginner-friendly in terms of skill floor entry. If you’re a brand-new player, try these out.

Average

Average characters are still quite easy to pick up but will tend to be more unconventional with some of their moves. The Animal Crossing duo are good examples of this.

Hard

Hard characters have an additional level of complication that you’ll need to figure out for you to succeed with them.

Severe

Lastly, Severe characters will usually have the hardest kits to pick up and play with. We recommend picking up other characters first before trying to learn one of these or else you’ll risk missing out on some core fundamentals.

Thanks for reading! Be sure to check back, especially around new patches, for updated rankings for the best Smash Bros Ultimate characters.

How to Play Every Dragon in TFT Set 7

TFT Set 7: Dragonlands has been around for a while now, and players have found the most powerful comps for each Dragon.

One of the signature mechanics of the set is the introduction of 8-cost and 10 -cost dragons that offer powerful abilities and +3 synergy bonuses.

In this article, we’ll break down examples of how to play each dragon with links to more detailed guides.

If you’d like to build your own team comp guide, head to our Team Builder. To explore more guides created by other TFT players, check out our Community Comps section.

Set 7 Dragon Team Comps

The 8-Cost Dragons

1. Sy’Fen – Corki Cannon

TFT Syfen Corki Team Comp

Team Comp Description:

Take your LP to the moon with Cannoneers! This comp is a typical 4-cost carry comp revolving around Corki. You have lots of damage from Revel and Cannoneer and combined with the resistance shredding from Whispers 4 a backline that’s insanely fast at making enemy teams disappear.

[See Sy’Fen guide]

When to Make:

Go for this comp if you get a Trainer start with Tristana and Heimerdinger, then it’s very easy to move into this with Jinx afterwards. Having good items for Corki and Sy’fen is a must with this comp as they’ll be dealing all of your damage.

2. Daeja – Mirage

TFT Daeja Team Comp

Team Comp Description:

This comp focuses around the Mirage trait, the new Mutant comp of Set 7. Unlike Mutants, you have decent carries throughout the entire course of the game with the Dragon Daeja being our main damage carry. Nunu will form most of our frontline if he is 3 starred, and Yasuo with a Cavalier spat is the perfect unit to put all remaining items on while also providing the CC needed.

[See Daeja guide]

When to Make:

If you have lots of Bows and Needlessly Large Rods to get the right itemization on your Mirage carry – Daeja. Finding a Yone or Nunu will also help activating Mirage early into the game.

3. Shi Oh Yu – Jade

TFT Shi Oh Yu Team Comp

Team Comp Description:

This comp revolves around the 6 Jade trait and uses Shi Oh Yu, Neeko, and Anivia as the AD Carry, the tank, and the AP carry respectively. Shi Oh Yu is the main carry of this comp and runs strong AD items. Lulu, Nami and Bard are there to provide some Magic Resistance in the current meta.

[See Shi Oh Yu guide]

When to Make:

Go for this comp if you have good Shi Oh Yu items and a decent start with Jade units.

4. Idas – Corki /Shimmer

TFT Idas Team Comp

Team Comp Description:

For the most part, Idas can simply be used as a straight up replacement for Sy’fen as a frontline unit. While Sy’fen is usually better, you can go for this comp if you were planning on playing Shimmerscale, but need to pivot, or if you don’t find Sy’fen.

When to Make:

Go for this comp if you can’t find Sy’fen along with Corki, or if you were going for Shimmerscale but decided to pivot out into Corki.

The 10-Cost Dragons

5. Shyvana – Ragewing

TFT Shyvana Team Comp

Team Comp Description:

This comp is all about burning down enemy team comps by focusing on the Ragewing Dragon – Shyvana. Since she’s a 10-cost Dragon you have to have a strong early and midgame with the help of other Ragewing carries like Xayah.

[See Shyana guide]

When to Make:

You can move into this comp if you have a strong opener that can get you on a win streak ideally. Since Shyvana is pretty flexible in her itemization, you only need to make sure you’re playing your strongest board until you reach the late game to find your red Dragon.

6/7. Aurelion Sol / Ao Shin – Mage

TFT Asol Comp

For these two comps, they are basically the same, just replace Asol with Ao Shin or vice versa.

Team Comp Description:

You can’t get a Mage Spatula every game but if you do get one this is a great comp to play. The mage bonus on the 10-cost Dragon Aurelion Sol means 2 black holes with every cast – increasing the teams damage by a ton!

[See Aurelion Sol guide]

[See Ao Shin guide]

When to Make:

If you get a Spatula this should be your first thought. Aside from that any Mage augments can push you in this direction as well as a lot of rod or tear components.

Multiple Dragons

8. Dragon Alliance

TFT Dragon Alliance Team Comp

Team Comp Description:

Run this comp ONLY when you see one of the specific Dragon Augments. The Dragons in play are Idas, Shi Oh Yu and Daeja with Idas being your main tank. Daeja will be your ranged source of damage while higher cost units like Bard and Yasuo provide the needed crowd control.

[See Dragon Alliance guide]

When to Make:

Go for this comp ONLY if you have the Tier 2 “Dragon Alliance” or “Dragon Horde” Augment. Both these Augments are mandatory to run this comp as they’ll allow you to play multiple Dragons without losing the Dragon trait.

If you’d like to build your own team comp guide, head to our Team Builder. To explore more guides created by other TFT players, check out our Community Comps section.
