We’re over halfway through Worlds 2022, and NA is doing as we all expected. Do you think they will win Worlds? Probably not, but watching them play against some of the top teams from EU, KR, and the rest of the world has been pretty exciting.

Unfortunately for North America, they tend not to turn up for international events such as Worlds and never really do well when it comes to getting out of groups. Historically, NA hasn’t performed very well on the Worlds stage for a long time.

In this Mobalytics article, we’re going to give some insight and compare NA to the rest of the world and break down a few things that will help us build a picture of why NA doesn’t do too well on the big stage.

Before we begin, it is important to note that we will not be biased towards any server and will be as neutral as possible. If you like this article, head to the Mobalytics site for more Esports and educational articles.

1. Different Playstyle

Every server has a different play style and favours different types of champions. The NA play style is slightly different to the rest of the world, which could be one reason why they do not do too well.

It is known that NA doesn’t really adapt to well to meta sifts and meta changes. Some regions adapt really quickly or are ahead of the curve, while it takes NA teams slightly longer to adapt. This is not always a bad thing, but on an international stage, having any advantage is key.

If it takes NA a patch or 2 to adapt, then they’re going to be behind everyone else as they usually adapt extremely quickly or at the same time as every other server- why do you think NA is behind everyone else?

Something else that could be mentioned is their lack of knowledge/skill in the drafting phase. Often you will see teams draft extremely poorly, or not play to the team comps strengths which ultimately costs them games.

2. Lack of Practice

Now we could go all over the place with this one, but I want to keep it to the point. NA doesn’t play as much ranked compared to other servers. This is mostly down to pros not wanting to play as often, but it is not always their fault.

If you watch any big pro streamer, you can see how much they don’t want to play ranked due to how bad the ranked experience is. There are a few reasons why it is worse in NA compared to some other regions:

• Lots of remakes

Long queue times and multiple remakes a day coupled together make for a less-than-stellar experience. There are many reasons for a game to be remade, but unfortunately, it feels like most remakes are due to deliberate AFKS.

• Low-quality games

As of late, many people are deliberately throwing games and running it down in high ELO. This is heavily influenced by betting and max fixing.

• High ELO “trolls”

There are a lot of players who are in high ELO that will run it down and int certain players when they have them on their team.

While NA isn’t the only server that has these issues, they all contribute to why NA doesn’t play as much. I don’t blame them for not wanting to play when these things affect their Solo Queue experience, but they need to release that they need to play if they want to improve.

For my next point, I need to be pretty vague to not call out any pros or make it obvious who we’re talking about, but in 2022, there were some pretty good game releases. Instead of doing their job and grinding League, some pros were playing other games instead. I’m not saying they can’t play other games, but if it’s getting in the way of doing your job, then it’s an issue.

When a new game was released, we saw many pros clock in ridiculous hours within the first week of release. This mindset is different from NA to KR, for example.

3. Poor Work Ethic

This somewhat ties into our last point. However, when we compare NA to the rest of the world, they tend to, on average, play less ranked games and spend less time on Summoners Rift. Korea is an amazing example of hard work and dedication. You will see pros on this server grinding day and night to improve while NA is nowhere to be seen.

If we look at some high ELO players like Tyler 1 on NA, he grinds League day and night, but where are the pros? What are they doing? They’re not playing ranked nearly as much as him or pros on other servers. With this poor work ethic and less time spent playing the game, it’s clear that they’re never going to win Worlds.

There are some outliers, but for the most part, NA just doesn’t practice enough and their poor work ethic is one of the main contributing factors when it comes to this.

Take a look at Fakers 24 hour schedule. It’s slightly outdated, but just look at how much time he plays or does things surrounding the game.

4. Retirement Home

The North American pro scene is full of old players who have been playing for years. This is a good thing because the old blood can teach the newbies a thing or two. Their experience is valuable when it comes to building characters and faces of the LCS.

But, theres a slight issue with so many players being in the League for a long time: they become washed up. It’s a very common meme that NA is a retirement home for pros, and it is somewhat true. Imports from other countries who have been playing for some time will get brought by NA teams to fill their roster. When they come to NA, they don’t perform as they had been before, and they soon get dumped or stay in the league doing the bare minimum to survive.

In recent times, players who have retired have made their way back into the scene. This isn’t exactly healthy for the strength of North America because they don’t always perform too well when they’re back. However, franchisees in the NA pro scene don’t care about this because it’s good to have big names in their organisation.

5. Low Server Population

North America is huge in size, but the server population isn’t. There is a large difference in numbers between NA, EU and KR with NA having similar members playing ranked compared to much smaller servers around the world (such as EUNE).

These stats were taken from the OP.GG site. Huge props to them for having this data. You can check the data and compare their server to others worldwide.

With so few players playing ranked, it can be hard to create talent because there are less people playing the game. There can be a few different reasons why less people play in NA.

• Game type

People just don’t like League. NA may not favour MOBA games and prefer games such as Shooters or RPG games instead. MOBA’s are one of the dominant games in KR for instance.

• High Ping

Nobody likes lagging, and if you’re in NA, you will have a high ping. This is one of the pitfalls of being in NA; unless you live near the servers, you’re in for a rough time.

Ending Thoughts

There are some deep-rooted errors in NA that are costing them the Worlds title. Until NA, LCS, and the player base works on these issues; there isn’t much hope for them ever winning the biggest title of the year.

Welcome to our patch notes breakdown for League of Legends Season 12! Let’s break down all the new changes in LoL coming this week.

We recommend following along with the official 12.20 patch notes since we won’t be listing all the specific stat changes, but rather, focusing on the impact of the changes and the champions updated place in the current meta.

Buffs, nerfs, and changes

Aatrox (nerf)

• His heal is reduced.
• It will impact him negatively in the Top and Mid roles.

Akshan (buff)

• His E Duration is increased. He can now swing for longer, which is a buff overall.

Blitzcrank (adjust)

• The passive shield is adjusted. His base stats are also changed.
• Q damage is decreased. W monster damage is adjusted.
• E damage is changed, but deals more damage to monsters.

Elise (buff)

• Q range is decreased. Hitbox changes

Evelynn (buff)

• Q damage is increased slightly.
• W charm duration is increased too.
• Some good buffs to Evelynn. I just hope they don’t make her meta and OP again.

Gwen (buff)

• Q damage is increased. This will help her in both the Top and Jungle roles.

Jayce (buff)

• Melee mana restoration is increased a little bit.
• The bonus defensive stats now scale with AD!
• It will help Jayce in both the Top and Mid roles.

Kennen (buff)

• E attack speed buff will now allow him to get over 2.5x attack speed limit. It’s a buff overall.
• It could bring back attack speed Kennen.

Maokai (nerf)

• Heal is down, and his Ultimate cooldown is increased later on.
• This will negatively impact him in the Top and Jungle roles.

Rammus (buff)

• W slow is removed, and R speed is increased.

Sett (nerf)

• Magic resistance is down; passive regen is reduced early on. Damage ratios are down.

Wukong (buff)

• R AD ratio increased a little bit.
• It will help him in all the roles he is played in.

Ziggs (buff)

• Q damage is increased. It will help with poke and wave clear. This buff is going to help him in the Mid and ADC role.

Items

Demonic Embrace

• Health reduced, more AP, and less damage per tick. It’s a nerf overall.

Frozen Heart

• Cost is increased, but gives a little more armor. However, the Rock Solid Damage reduction is changed a bit.

Mortal Reminder

• The amount of autos required to trigger it has been reduced.

Sterak’s Gage

• Bonus AD is increased. The shield amount is increased. Decary time is increased. Overall some nice buffs to Steraks.

Runes

Lethal Tempo

• Bonus range is reduced to 50 for both melee and ranged champions.

Methodology TLDR: This list was curated in collaboration with our League Experts: Adam ‘Moriarty’ Isles, Dan ‘Aux’ Harrison and Phy, and our Role Specialists: Shikari, Only, Command Attack, and Yen. Unlike most tier lists, we publish ours before, or as a patch goes live, according to the predictions of our in-house experts.

• Our first tier list aimed at lower elo, specifically gold elo and the surrounding brackets. These picks are effective when utilized in lower ranks and are the best tools for helping you to climb the SoloQ ladder as far as Diamond.
• Our second tier list is for high elo, aimed at Diamond 2 and above. These picks are curated by our experts and are an indicator of the champions inherent strength when played at the highest level. For a lot of the user base this information isn’t super relevant for their games but provides invaluable insight into the game itself.
• We made the decision to return to two tier lists after heavily reviewing the feedback from our users. Ultimately we agreed that a general tier list aimed at Plat+ wouldn’t serve a majority of the playerbase and we had missed the mark.
• Our difficulty system relies on “Skill Floor”, meaning that a Simple champion will yield results faster (around 5-10 games of learning)
• If a champion has a higher skill floor (Hard or Severe), it will take more time to learn them (20-50 games +) but you will be rewarded with better results over time whereas a Simple champion may fall off as you climb higher.

Top – Maokai

• Maokai is back with a vengeance and this brick wall Top laner is one of the best tank picks to go for right now. In lane, he packs a ton of sustain, decent trading power and an unrivalled ability to set up ganks.
• His W & Q make him the ideal lane to play for, almost guaranteeing successful ganks every time.
• Maokai then turns into a monstrous team fighting crowd control monster offering peel, engage or whatever it is your team needs! If you enjoy the frontline fantasy, Maokai is a top choice.

Jungle – Bel’Veth

• Bel’Veth has cemented her place in the jungle recently, especially in Solo Queue. She absolutely thrives in unorganized games, and the Solo Queue chaos suits her perfectly.
• Her mobility is incredible, she has solid damage in both short bursts and long extended fights and her E is a fantastic defensive ability making her very difficult to shut down.
• Bel’Veth tears down the Rift Herald and those tanky Dragons with ease, and as the game goes on, she only gets stronger with that permanent attack speed from her Passive.
• If you have low crowd control and burst damage, Bel’Veth will just stay alive forever, and if she’s got that Void form- good luck taking her down.

Mid – Swain

• Swain has been having the season of his life ever since that mid-scope update and with still no nerfs this patch, he’s going to remain one of the best champions in the game.
• Swain is fairly straightforward to play and works into most team comps which is ideal when playing in those lower-ranked games.
• Swain has solid laning, fantastic team fighting and immensely good snowball potential, becoming unkillable with his scaling health and itemization but also dealing a crazy amount of AOE damage.

Bottom – Miss Fortune

• Miss Fortune is the most popular and the most successful AD Carry in the game right now. She starts off by being an oppressive lane bully in the early game and turns into a monster with a few items. Her Ultimate alone is enough to tear through teams and if you catch enemies in chokepoints, you can genuinely ace them with this ability by itself!
• Miss Fortune isn’t just reliant on her Ultimate now though as she was in the past as now with her crit build she also packs a big punch with her auto attacks and Q. This allows her to kite and burst down enemies throughout fights rather than just waiting for her R to be back up.
• There are not many easier and safer options to go for than Miss Fortune at the moment if you’re looking to carry from the bot lane.

Support – Amumu

• Amumu Support is just so simple in the way that it’s effective. You’ve got 2 charges on that Q which can setup fights and ganks in the early game and then you’ve got your Ultimate which allows you to lock down 5 enemies in those big teamfights.
• Amumu is very simple to learn and easy to pick up but his impact on games is without question. As long as you can get into the right position to engage for your teammates and press R, you’re good to go.
• If you can combine Amumu support with other strong AoE wombo combo picks, you’re in for a treat.

Top – Singed

• Singed has had periods this season of pure domination in the Top Lane and right now we are definitely experiencing this.
• He has such an infuriating playstyle which is undeniably effective, and at those higher ranks is really where players are abusing this champion.
• Singed usually has a way to make it through any matchup. He has good laning power, a fantastic gank setup, and an incredible ability to roam and influence the map.
• Even if you get behind on this champion, all you have to do is sprint at those high-priority carries and throw them back into your team.
• Whether you’re proxying waves or camping other lanes, Singed is a very impactful champion in High ELO right now, and has been for quite a while.

Jungle – Elise

• Elise hasn’t been the most popular or consistent choice in the jungle for a while, but over recent weeks, she’s seeing more impressive results.
• Elise is an aggressive early game ganking Jungler with the ability to easily punish and dive lanes taking certain players out of the game completely. She’s one of the few Junglers that can dive turrets so early and so easily and at higher ranks people can abuse this every single game.
• Elise’s solid early ganks translate into a terrorising mid game: snowballing out of control and one shotting anyone who gets close. As long as you’re confident enough in your Elise capabilities, you can end games early enough before you start to fall off.

Mid – Zed

• Zed’s been a heavily prioritized pick in that Mid-lane for quite some time recently and he doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of slowing down. Zed ticks so many of those High ELO champion boxes.
• He’s got a super high skill ceiling, fantastic carry potential and the ability to outplay his enemies against all of the odds.
• Now, if you get fed on Zed at the moment, you have a very good chance of carrying the game, you can pop down enemy carries in a matter of seconds and you can often just get out of there without too much risk of trading 1 for 1.
• Zed’s mobility, burst damage and overall ability to snowball games by himself make him a very scary Mid-lane pick in the right hands.

Bottom – Draven

• Draven will always be a fantastic AD Carry to play at higher ranks due to the intense mechanical gameplay that can be insanely rewarding in the right hands.
• If you can manage those axes and keep on the move whilst pumping out damage and farming efficiently, Draven is just such a great champion and if the meta allows him to be more viable, then he’s always a top Bot lane pick to go for.
• Draven’s Passive makes him arguably one of the best snowballing marksman in the game as all that bonus extra gold can allow him to spike so early and then just kill his lane opponents in 2 or 3 axes.
• He’s got self peel with his E, a global Ultimate that help him cash in on that Passive from across the map and of course that huge movement speed steroid in his W as long as he keeps catching those axes.
• Draven works super well with a variety of supports too making him a solid champion to One trick from that bot lane in high ELO.

Support – Pyke

• Pyke has always been a real terror in the right hands, but recently he’s started to really come back into popularity. His crazy ability to carry is almost unrivaled from that Support role and his pick potential, his clean-up damage, and his overall impact on games are back at full strength.
• Pyke has a crazy high skill ceiling so, the better you get at him, the higher the reward is, and at the top ranks this is a huge factor as to his success rate.
• Pyke has several itemization options, he has a solid range of matchups and if the lane is that bad he can just roam and carry the map instead. If you can pull him off, he’s a fantastic choice to play in high elo this patch.

Format and Methodology

Our difficulty ratings focus on how long it would take to start seeing a champion’s power level on our list in terms of the number of games invested.

Let’s say you’re debating between learning and climbing with Jax (A-tier | Simple) or Rengar (A-tier | Severe) – you’re going to want to go with Jax. Why? This is because Jax has a lower skill floor and would require less games to play at an A-Tier level in solo queue. If you tried to pick up Rengar, you wouldn’t get the full value of A-tier until after about 15 matches of practice whereas with Jax, you would get that full 15 every time you play him.

Another example would be between Nidalee (S-tier | Intense) vs Xin Zhao (B-Tier | Simple). Let’s say you’re about to play your last match before promos and you get auto-filled to Jungle (a role you’re not too familiar with). Even though he’s lower on the list, you’d be better off choosing Xin because you don’t have the required number of games to break the skill floor of Nidalee.

Higher skill floor champions will scale better with time investment – Severe champs will outperform Simple champs in the long run because Simple champs generally have their weaknesses exposed the higher you climb.

So if your question is, “How long until I’ll start seeing results?”, the answer would be harder = longer time, easier = shorter time. If your question is. “Will this champion still be strong as I climb in ranks?”, the answer would be harder = moreso, easier = less so.

Disclaimer #1: If a champion isn’t on our Tier List, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t climb with them. You’ll just have to put in more effort to get similar results as our Optimal, Great, and Good choices for climbing.

Disclaimer #2: This list is meant to evaluate the champions that we believe are best for climbing Solo Queue. Although there can certainly be some overlap, we are NOT looking to name the champions that are the best in pro-play or organized, competitive 5-on-5. This is why champs that require a ton of team coordination such as Ryze, may not be included or ranked highly.

K’Sante: The Pride of Nazumah is the fifth champion to hit Summoners Rift in the 12th Season of League of Legends. He should be the last champion to be released this year, but Riot does have some other champions in the works to be released soon™.

He will be making his debut during Patch 12.22.

His intended role is to be played in the Top lane. However, expect some players to play him in the Jungle role too.

K’Sante’s Passive is Dauntless Instinct

His damaging abilities mark enemies. His basic attacks against marked enemies consume the mark and deal additional damage.

All out bonus: Consuming a mark deals additional damage.

K’Sante’s Q is Ntofo Strikes

K’Sante slams his weapon, dealing damaging and slowing enemies. If he hits an enemy champion, he gains a stack, which can stack up to twice. At max stacks, his next cast is empowered that pulls enemies towards him.

All out bonus: The cooldown is reduced and it no longer applies a slow.

K’Sante’s W is Path Maker

Active: He charges, entering a defensive stance that grants him damage reduction and immunity. He can recast this ability:

Recast: he dashes in the target direction, dealing damage and knocking back and then stunning enemies.

All out bonus: The cooldown is refreshed, the damage reduction is increased and it deals more damage. The speed is also doubled.

K’Sante’s E is Footwork

He dashes, but not through terrain or walls. He gains a shield while dashing. He can cast this ability on allies to increase the range and also give them a shield.

All out bonus: Footworks dash speed and range is increased, and he can also dash through terrain.

K’Sante’s Ultimate is All Out

He roots and knocks back a target a fair way. He then blinks behind them. If the target hits a wall, they go further and over the wall. At the end, he deals damage and they will be stunned if they hit a wall. After that, he goes “All Out”, and the ability can be recast within the duration.

All out bonus: He loses a percentage of his health, armor and magic resistance, but he gets additional damage and omnivamp while empowering his abilities.

There are a plethora of reasons why someone may not climb in League of Legends. Many factors can influence how well you’re playing and how you’ll perform in the game, such as your mood, how tired you are, factors outside of the game and much, much more.

While we cannot help you with things outside the game, we can list some things that you do or don’t do in LoL to help you get back on the climbing bandwagon. Before we begin, this guide is more aimed toward players who are new to League or who are Gold or lower. 5 Reasons Why You’re Not Climbing in League of Legends (Season 12)

1. You Have a Large Champion Pool
2. You Switch Lanes Frequently

1. You Have a Large Champion Pool

There are five lanes in League of Legends, a dozen different champion archetypes and over 160 champions to date. It is very easy to see why some players have an extremely large champion pool. There are so many different champions that everyone likes more than one champion.

The issue arises when you have too many champions in your champion pool. Just because you like lots of champions, it doesn’t mean you should play them all in ranked. Let’s say you love 25 champions in the game. You will not be good on all those champions compared to someone who plays just 1 or 2 champions.

If you are fighting someone who is a one trick of their champion, such as a Riven one trick, you’re going to get outclassed by them in more ways than 1. Someone who has 100 games on a champion will be better than someone who only has 25 games.

It is better for you to have lots of experience playing the same champions as you will have a lot more time playing them. Having more experience with a champion means that you will be better on them. You’ll be used to their mechanics, combos and gameplay, which will heavily favour you and increase your chances of winning. Someone who has 5 games on Yasuo will be a lot worse compared to someone with 500 games on Yasuo.

Reduce your champion pool to only a handful of champions in ranked. Stick to those champions and only play them in ranked. When you’re not playing ranked, you can play who you like and what roles you like, but make sure you only play the champions you’re comfortable with and are good at in ranked.

2. You Switch Lanes Frequently

We briefly mentioned it in our last section, but sticking to the same roles is also important. You shouldn’t play all the roles in the game. You should prioritise playing your two best roles and just sticking to those in ranked. Don’t play fill as you will get outclassed by someone who mains that role.

As you can see, most of the games played are in the Support and Jungle role.

In Ranked, you should have a lane that you main and then a secondary role that you’re good at too. You should then queue up as only those two roles: selecting the role you’re best at first. Avoid picking a secondary role that you’re not very good at.

You need to realise that you will not perform well in a role when you either do not play that role or if you do not understand how it is played properly. If you’re facing someone who mains that role, you will struggle a lot, and they will win against you easily.

At the end of the day, many players call “jungle dif”, and that will be your lane dif if you first time a role or if you’re playing on your off role.

3. You’re Not Focused Enough

I think everyone doesn’t focus from time to time in League. Maybe your brain is elsewhere and not in the game. It’s very common, and everyone does it. However, if you’re not focused when you’re playing League, then you should probably not play League or queue up.

When you’re head isn’t in the game, you’re not going to be focused, and you’ll make mistakes that can cost you a lot in the long run. For instance, an early death, because you were not focused, will cost you gold, XP and the enemy will have an advantage over you.

Similarly, you may miss out on pings or seeing the enemy Jungler approaching your lane. If you miss them, then you will die when they gank your lane. It is very important that you learn that your actions have consequences, and things can quickly get out of control if you’re not focusing properly.

I know it can be hard, but if you’re thinking you may be distracted or know that you’re not in a mind frame to concentrate, I would avoid playing Ranked until you feel better. If you’re having an off day, it is possible that you will lose a lot of games and de-rank and demote.

4. You’re Not Practicing Enough

Not everyone can practice for 5 hours a day. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to play non-stop League of Legends. With that in mind, I do think that you should try to practice every day or as often as you can without going overboard.

You do not necessarily have to be playing the game to learn more about it. Checking sites like Mobalytics or watching streams of your favourite champions is very good. You can also read up on information such as combos, builds and anything to do with your champion to help you get better at them.

Naturally, some champions will not require a lot of experience to master such as Jax or Malphite, but at the end of the day, if you don’t practice or try to learn more information about your champion- you’re missing out. You will not learn everything about a champion by just playing them, but you can learn a lot by playing, researching and discussing different things for your fav champs.

5. You’re Playing Too Much

The final tip is something that we can all relate to in 1 form or another. It can be quite easy for some people to just play League and do nothing else when they’re off from work or it’s the weekend. However, it is important that you avoid doing nothing but playing League.

Playing ten games in a row or across the day isn’t a good idea because you’ll only be playing well or at an optimal level for a few of the games. When you’re not playing to your absolute best, you will decrease your chances of winning. You will become tired and fatigued and start making mistakes that you wouldn’t usually make.

As you can see, on this day I only played 5 games and no more.

When driving long distances, you need to take a break or else you’ll start to feel tired and start auto-piloting and potentially crash your car. While it’s just a video game and not that extreme, the same principle exists when playing the game. The longer you play, the worse you’ll be playing.

If you’re serious about climbing in League of Legends, you must take all of the advice we have presented in this guide and use it to the best of your ability. At the end of the day, someone else who is using this advice is climbing, and you will not be if you choose not to use it. How to Play the Wombo Combo Team Composition

The Objective of the Comp

The objective of this team composition is to group as five and use all of your abilities within a short period of time. Due to the nature of a wombo combo team composition, you need to layer your CC to keep the enemy locked down for a long time.

Ideally, you wish to fight in areas of the map that force the enemy to group closer together. They are great at fighting around objectives and inside the jungle, as teams are usually grouped closely together in these areas.

Example Champions

Top lane

Malphite

• He has an AOE Ultimate that he can use to knock up multiple enemy team members.
• Getting a 5 person Ultimate can enable your team to follow up and dish out damage or use their CC tools.
• Malphite’s Ultimate is long range so he can use it from afar to get picks.

Ornn

• Ornn’s Ultimate has long range so he can use it from afar and out of the fog of war to catch people out.
• He can knock up the whole enemy team if they’re grouped together.
• It’s on a short cooldown which can allow him to get picks with his team.

Jungle

Wukong

• His Ultimate is an AOE ability that can knockup the whole enemy team twice.
• His W allows him to reposition or engage on the enemy via the fog of war to surprise the enemy.
• Wukong can dish out a lot of damage and kill squishy champions if he is fed.

Amumu

• Amumu’s tanky, so he can soak up a lot of enemy damage for his team.
• His Ultimate can CC everyone on the enemy team and keep them locked down for a long period of time.
• If Amumu has AP items, not only will his Ultimate lock them down, but it will also deal a considerable amount of damage to the enemy team too.

Mid lane

Orianna

• Orianna’s W can be used to speed up her allies to enable them to engage.
• Her Ultimate can be used to CC multiple champions at once. It also deals a considerable amount of damage.
• Orianna’s E can be attached to her allies which can protect them but also be used to set her Ultimate up.

Vel’Koz

• He has lots of damage with his Ultimate.
• Vel’Koz also has an ability that can knockup enemies. If he uses this on an already CC’d enemy, he can extend the duration.
• He has good poke prior to a fight which makes killing enemies a lot easier.

ADC

Sivir

• Her W and Q can deal damage to multiple targets at once in a fight.
• Sivir’s Ultimate can allow her team to chase the enemy and take them down.
• In the mid and late game, her damage output will be incredibly high.

Miss Fortune

• Her E is a slow that can catch enemies out who are too far forward. It can also be used to kite and escape the enemy.
• Miss Fortune’s Ultimate deals tons of damage in a cone.
• If she can use her Ultimate while the enemy team is locked down, she will wreak havoc in a fight.

Support

Rakan

• Rakan has 2 AOE tools in his kit: his Ultimate and his W.
• He can use his E on an ally to close the gap and get closer to the enemy team.
• Rakan can go in, CC or knockup multiple enemies and then escape with his W.

Alistar

• Alistar’s Q is an AOE ability that can be used to knockup members of the enemy team.
• While his W can only allow him to target 1 enemy, it can enable him to knockup multiple targets with the follow-up Q.
• Alistar is quite tanky and can be even tankier with his Ultimate active. He can soak up damage and use his Q twice in a team fight as it is on a lowish cooldown.

Tips and Tricks

We’ve gone through some champions, and now it’s time to give you some tips and tricks on how to play as the comp.

• Try and fight in tight areas of the map. Fighting here is great as teams will be grouped closer together. Fighting in the jungle is a good enclosed part of the map.
• Avoid delaying team fights. This comp relies heavily on going in fast. If you delay a fight, then you will get poked down and potentially be unable to go in.
• Look where your allies are before going in. While going in quickly is important, don’t go in alone. Make sure your team are nearby and able to follow up.

How to Counter The Wombo Combo Team Comp

You can counter a wombo combo team composition in a few different ways. The first is to avoid grouping too closely together. It is better to be split slightly apart so the enemy cannot combo you all at once. The second thing you can do is to avoid fighting inside the jungle or around objectives. Teams tend to be grouped inside these parts of the map, so being apart from one another is very beneficial.

You may have noticed lately that we’ve been creating lots of content regarding pro play, and it’s been very fun looking at historical pro play.

These champions will either get picked by one team, or banned by the other, and whenever they make it through champion select, they will dominate the enemy and take over the game.

5 Champions Who Will Dominate Worlds 2022

1. Ornn
2. Gwen
3. Wukong

Ornn

The first champion on our list is Ornn. Ornn has and will see a lot of play on the Worlds Stage this year. Ornn is a dominant champion who has seen play in pro play ever since his release.

Ornn synergises well with a ton of different champions. He fits into basically any team comp, and his build is highly adapative. Ornn is a great tank champion who will soak tons of damage for his team, regardless of the enemies team comp.

He is amazing in team fights thanks to the amount of CC his kit includes. His Ultimate is also very good in team fights. He can use it to knockup the whole enemy team if they’re grouped around an objective or in the river.

Gwen

The second champion on our list is Gwen. Gwen is a very dominant champion in both solo queue and pro play. She has been one of the most popular picks since her release, and I don’t recall a time when she hasn’t been good in pro play.

Gwen can dominate the enemy Top laner in lane thanks to her skirmish-heavy play style and excellent early game damage. Outside the laning phase, she is a good split pusher who can apply pressure to side lanes and be a nuisance for the enemy.

Her pick potential is actually quite good too. Her Ultimate deals damage and slows the enemy, which can help her team pick enemies off and start a fight. If she can get on and pick off the enemy carry, her team will easily win the fight.

Wukong

Wukong has been a dominant champion throughout the Season. He has seen play in several lanes, including the Top, Mid and Jungle roles. After his slight rework, he has been, what feels like – pick or ban in League of Legends.

Wukong has a lot of early game damage and can gank pretty much from the get go. As these types of Junglers are strong, he should dominate pro play and snowball his team. Outside of that, Wukong has many tools to set up ganks and fights. His Ultimate can be used twice to knock up enemies and CC targets.

Something that may be forgotten about Wukong is that his build is versatile. Regardless of how ahead or behind he is, he can adapt his build to his team’s needs to be a monster. If he gets fed, he will deal a lot of damage and be super tanky.

Renata

Renata has been a powerful champion ever since her release. Her kit is amazing in pro play, and she has so many tools to help her team and keep them alive.

Her Ultimate is a fantastic team fighting tool that can CC and deal lots of damage to the enemy team. As teams usually group in Pro play, she will be able to CC the whole enemy team at once. Each champion will damage another enemy, resulting in free kills for her team.

She is a very reliable champion and very good from behind. She just needs to empower her allies and keep them alive; they will do the hard work for her.

Viego

The final champion on our list is Viego. Veigo is a new champion but has been dominating pro and solo queue since he was introduced. Veigo will most likely be played in the Jungle role, and it is doubtful we will see him in any other role.

Champions that can gank early and skirmish are very good in pro play. Viego can start ganking early after his double buff clear. Early ganks are essential, so he is a good pick in this regard.

One thing that is good in pro play is that there are a lot of skirmishes and fights in pro play, which means he can take over the body of the enemy champion, allowing for a lot of good playmaking and outplay potential.
